Instructions for submitting final camera ready version of full papers
The last date for full paper submission is September 15, 2011. This is a hard deadline that must be followed by all authors to ensure the timely preparation of the proceedings.
For preparing the final submission of a full paper, please consider carefully the following instructions in order to ensure compliance with the rules for inclusion in the IEEE proceedings. Due to strict time constraints an opportunity for manuscript revision may not be given.
Paper templates
For preparation of the camera-ready version of your manuscript you should incorporate the feedback from the reviewers and follow the IEEE Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings available at:
http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html
Please chose the A4 version of the templates (Word or Latex) and carefully consider the instruction provided in the template itself. We suggest that authors copy and paste content into the given templates from IEEE. A full paper for IPIN conference proceedings may have a length up to maximal 10 pages (DIN A4). Shorter papers (down to a minimum of 6 pages) are certainly welcome. You should also include in your paper the copyright notice as described in the next section.
Copyright
IEEE policy requires that prior to publication all authors or their employers must transfer to the IEEE in writing any copyright they hold for their individual papers. Transferring copyright is a necessary requirement for publication, except for material in the public domain or which is reprinted with permission from a previously published, copyrighted publication. Upon transferring copyright to IEEE, authors and/or their companies have the right to post their IEEE-copyrighted material on their own servers without permission, provided that the server displays a prominent notice alerting readers to their obligations with respect to copyrighted material and that the posted work includes an IEEE copyright notice.
There are two steps you must follow to guarantee compliance with copyright policies.
1. You must obtain the IEEE copyright form, fill in the form, sign it and send a digitized version to ipin2011@dsi.uminho.pt. The copyright form can be obtained from http://www.ieee.org/documents/ieeecopyrightform.pdf.
In "IEEE Publication Title (Journal, Magazine, Conference, Book):" please write "2011 International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation"
2. You must add a copyright notice as a footnote on the bottom left of the first page of your manuscript. In the word template you may replace the text in the existing footnote where it says "Identify applicable sponsor/s here. If no sponsors, delete this text box. (sponsors)".
Please make sure that your paper includes the appropriate copyright clearance footer by choosing your case from the options below:
a) For the most common cases, the appropriate copyright notice is "978-1-4577-1804-5/11/$26.00 ©2011 IEEE".
b) For papers in which all authors are employed by the US government, the copyright notice should be changed to "U.S. Government work not protected by U.S. copyright".
c) For papers in which all authors are employed by a Crown government (UK, Canada, and Australia), the copyright notice should be changed to "978-1-4577-1804-5/11/$26.00 ©2011 Crown"
PDF Generation and submission
Once you have finished the preparation of your manuscript you must generate a PDF file that is compliant with the "PDF Specification for IEEE Explore" and submit it to IPIN 2011. Both these processes will be assisted by the IEEE PDF eXpress Plus service available at:
http://www.pdf-express.org/plus
This tool may help you verify the compliance of your PDF files or assist you in the generation of compliant PDF files. For creating an account, please use our conference ID "ipin11xp".
Once your paper is finished and verified for compliance, you may proceed with the submission of your manuscript to IPIN 2011 directly in IEEE PDF eXpress Plus. This can be done by selecting "Approve for Collection" from the options available in the IEEE PDF eXpress Plus. Once the document status changes to Approved for Collection it has been successfully submitted.
Presentation at IPIN 2011
Presentation of your paper at IPIN 2011 is a requirement for inclusion in the IEEE proceedings and therefore non-presented papers will get rejected automatically.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact the conference organizers at ipin2011@dsi.uminho.pt.
