IPIN Student Grants Program
The purpose of the program is to encourage PhD students participation at
the conference by partially or fully funding the travel, accomodation and
registration costs of students who would otherwise be unable to attend
the conference.
CCG Grants
IPIN 2011 with the support of CCG is pleased to
announce that they are offering several grants to PhD students to
attend IPIN 2011 in Guimarães (Portugal).
Applications are accepted from students throughout the world. We strongly
prefer to give grants to students who have interest in the area of indoor
positioning and navigation, demonstrated by coursework and project
experience. Paper and poster authors may apply, only if they find
impossible to get other sources of funding.
The amount of support provided to each student is intended to cover the
student's registration, travel and accomodation. It is not expected to
exceed 600 euros for each grant, except for very special cases.
Those interested in the program, please send an email to Prof. Maria João Nicolau (joao@dsi.uminho.pt) having as subject
"IPIN 2011 grant" and include the following information:
- Full name (surname in UPPER CASE);
- Affiliation;
- Full personal contact details including email address, telephone and fax number;
- Gender (male/female);
- If you are an IPIN 2011 conference paper/poster (co-)author;
- A ONE-PAGE letter of interest highlighting (1)the impossibility of getting (sufficient)
other sources of funding, (2)a brief summary of research interests, and (3)why the
conference attendance is important to the student.
In addition, the student's advisor should send a letter of recommendation to the same
email address, indicating why the advisor believes the student would benefit from
attending the conference and confirming that the student is a Ph.D. candidate in
good standing.
Deadline to apply for grants is June 30, 2011.
